To
assist you in planning for future invitational tournaments, the
Tyoga Sports and Invitational Committees have established the
second full weekend in August of each year as the permanent dates
for the Tyoga Better Ball Invitational Tournament. (2007 dates:
August 8th, 9th, and 10th.)
Schedule
And Plan of Tournament
-
Practice rounds may be played on Friday by all entrants. Register
for practice round at pro shop. No tee times later
than 4:30 P.M. The practice round includes a “mini-tournament.”
The prize list will be in excess of $500 for the “mini-tournament.”
-
The tournament will be played over two days, flighted after
the first. Tee times will be between 7:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
both days. Saturday’s tee times will be based upon preference
to the extent possible, and Sunday’s by order of finish
on Saturday — lowest scoring teams last off.
-
Play will be in ten flights. In all cases, flight prizes will
be determined by a match of cards beginning from Hole No. 18
of Sunday’s round. Should a tie exist for the over-all
championship, it will be broken by a play-off using combined
low gross score on Holes 1 and 9 followed by “sudden death”
if required. The play-off will begin 15 minutes after play by
all teams in contention.
- The
entry deadline is July 22th, 2007 (postmark). The field will
be determined by the committee, with points assigned for previous
participation or application.
-
Entries will be confirmed on or before July 29th, 2007.
-
A long drive contest for Invitational participants will be held
on Saturday commencing at 6:00 P.M. sharp. Separate prizes are
offered for this contest. Balls will be furnished by the Invitational
Committee.
Prizes
Prizes
will be awarded to the first four teams in each flight.
A
medalist prize will be given to the low team in Saturday’s
play. In the event of a tie on Saturday, the medalist will be
determined by low score on first three holes of Sunday’s
play, followed, in the event of a further tie, by “sudden
death,” beginning on fourth hole.
The
over-all champions will be the low team for two days’ play,
regardless of flight.
Many
additional prizes will be awarded, most for “on-course”
contests during the two days of play.
The
total prize list is in excess of $7,500.
